Spring Salomon Farm Park Engagement | Fort Wayne, Indiana

The struggle was REAL when it came to planning this engagement session! But as God as my witness, I was going to make it happen! Between vacations, the weather, potential location hours of operation and a babysitter for Jaime + Chris’ sweet baby Caroline, we just had the hardest time! Of course, once we find a date that works for everyone, even Caroline, just three days before, I got asked to assist in photographing a wedding the day of. I was so scared to ask them to move it one more time but thankfully, Jaime and Chris were so flexible and agreed to bump their session back so I could have a full day of wedding photography and still get their session in!

So Saturday rolls around and the weather is GORGEOUS. We planned their session for sunset at Salomon Farm Park which was more their style (they’re both hunters!) than our first location. I was a little worried the place would be flooded with people because they had a public event that day but when I arrived, I was thrilled to see NO PEOPLE. We had this whole place to ourselves!

With all the back and forth planning, I was getting worried that Chris was super hesitant about getting these photos done and I was prepared to face a difficult groom. To my surprise, Chris was an absolute delight! When I arrived, I looked around to check out the location options we had and I pulled back up to the front. They were getting out of their car and getting sweet Caroline packed up in her stroller to tag along.

I get out and greet them and Chris is surprisingly cheery and personable! (Whew!) I can handle a tough groom, but I don’t enjoy it haha. The conversation with Chris and Jaime just came so naturally and the number of things that Chris has in common with Jacob (my hubby to be) and the both of them has in common with both of us in uncanny!

After all of this, I felt like we had known each other for years and that is EXACTLY the reason I give complimentary engagement sessions with my wedding package. It’s all part of the experience. I want my clients TO LOVE ME! I want to be FRIENDS! When I show up on the wedding day, I want to feel as comfortable around you as your bridesmaids!

I can’t wait to hang out with them again to capture their best day ever just seven days before I say I do!
