It felt like we had been waiting for this engagement session for so long! And when we finally got around to getting it scheduled, it didn’t work out to shoot at the Morris Estate, which was Savanna’s first choice. When she mentioned the possibility of shooting at the Indiana Dunes I absolutely agreed we should shoot there!
As an Indiana wedding photographer, I am used to working with the changing weather. And leading up to the session, weather looked decent. It wasn’t going to even hit 80 which I thought would be very comfortable with the lake breeze. Well, of course when I arrived at location scout, the weather got real chilly. I texted Savanna to “prepare for a chilly breeze!” because it was about 66 and very windy. But these two didn’t mind one bit. And honestly, coming out of hibernation and having my first couple of the year in front of my camera really warmed me up, too!
Savanna and Cameron felt like old friends when I met them. They are super sweet and kind people and we had a great time laughing and getting to know each other as we explored the beach. And when I tell you they were naturals in front of the camera, I mean it took 10 minutes of learning my posing style and Cameron was already kissing her forehead or nuzzling in without me even telling him! The wedding day will be such a breeze — pun intended 😜
Obsessed with this one.
Sav, if you don’t blow this one up and frame it in your home, you’re not doing it right.
