What a beautiful evening I spent with this sweet couple last week! This Spring Session features a stunning brick ivy-covered chapel, blossoming trees and a golden country sunset to top it all off! Katie and Jake invited me down to their hometown to explore the beautiful locations surrounding their family’s property where they will be getting married this September!

I knew Katie was an RC Bride from the start — not only because Torie and Brad referred her (who are one of my favorite couples with the most joyful photos I’ve ever shot with her bright florals!) but because she complimented my attention to detail in the first initial email! She said “I’m already in love with the abundance of details you’ve poured into this process. It makes my Type A, Enneagram-2w3-heart happy and secure knowing how intentional you are with your couples” Girl, YES!

Attention to detail is my M.O.! And then as we planned their session, she sent me four or five different locations all within a couple of miles of their family farm (where they’ll become Mr. & Mrs) and I also loved HER attention to detail! I was so excited to explore some new territory and check out their venue while I was in town! Just wait until you see this old chapel covered in ivy that she is obsessed with, it’s SO NEAT! I can’t wait to shoot there again on their wedding day!

How they met

Can you believe these two met on a BLIND DATE?! The same way Katie’s parents actually met! Katie shared that opposites attract could not be more true about their relationship. She says she likes to be in control and have certainty in her life but with Jake, “everything has been unexpected in the most beautiful way”. Their love was so apparent and watching Jake love on her was so sweet. He just lights her up, Katie was glowing!

I absolutely loved meeting these two last week! From the start, these two are so warm and inviting and made me feel like I was right at home! Katie said Jake wasn’t too excited about the photos and I reassured him that I make ALL GROOMS ENJOY THEIR PHOTOS! Seriously, I’m undefeated. 100% of RC Grooms have fun during their engagement session! 🙂 Enjoy my favorites from this sunset engagement — I had A LOT!
