This Spring Hamilton Lake engagement session was a great time for me to get to know this sweet couple and also check out their wedding venue! Hopefully their October wedding date will bring some warmer temps! Taylor and Cody were troopers last week as they weathered the rather chilly winds up at Hamilton Lake! These two are so sweet and playful and if you know anything about me, you know I love working with playful and romantic couples!

I’ll never forget when Taylor DM’d me on Instagram, and said she thought she saw something on my stories or posts about a veil recommendation because she couldn’t find it for her friend. I replied and told her that I actually had just sent an email to email list with that info! She said “oh! I have that email!” She was already on my email list and she said “PS I love your work…just patiently waiting on that ring”

That was a moment for me. I thought to myself, no way. I actually have a follower who is not engaged yet but already knows she wants me to shoot her wedding. That was a GOAL of mine and couldn’t believe I had someone just waiting until they could hire me. When Taylor reached out I was so excited!! It’s like we were both waiting on that ring! 🙂 She inquired and told me she was actually pregnant with their “quarantine baby”!! (haha! her words!!)

THE PROPOSAL

Cody is a photographer and a VERY talented one which made me incredibly nervous to have them in from of my camera, but that’s neither here nor there — Cody told Taylor he was planning on taking some pregnancy announcement photos of the two of them on the beach at the lake. And before the camera took the photo, he got down on one knee! Very sneaky, sir!
