What a way to top off the 2021 wedding season! Mikaela was fully against barn weddings until she saw how breathtaking The Sixpence was going to be and knew it was the perfect place to say I do! As a Sixpence vendor, I met Mikaela and Noah at the January Open House and we immediately connected! They were funny and sweet, she described her day as “classic black and white” and my heart stopped. I thought, ‘omg, I need to shoot their wedding. That is my style!’ and I jumped for joy when I heard from her! It has been such a pleasure serving Mikaela and Noah during this season with them!!

Mikaela’s maid of honor, Rachel, had a toast with an opening line that I’ve never connected with more in my life: “let’s give a round of applause for Mikaela and Noah showing up to their wedding on time!” (I’m always late, too, guys so don’t feel bad lol)

Rachel went on to share that she was skeptical when she heard from her best friend that she was going to:
meet a guy …whom she’s never met …in the woods …by herself. So naturally, after the date, Rachel immediately called Mikaela to facetime her and make sure she was okay, and she was more than okay. Both Mikaela and Noah were beaming. They knew immediately they had found the one to spend the rest of their life with.

One of my favorite parts of the day, that may come as a surprise to you, has to be the toasts. Mikaela’s dad, Tommy, brought me to tears. (As dad moments always do, cause I’m a daddy’s girl, too) but Tommy also reminded me a lot of my dad and maybe that’s why it hit me a little harder than usual. He talked about raising two beautiful daughters and joked about how it was hard but really giving her away was the hardest thing he’s ever had to do. But Noah has made it so easy. After Noah asked for Tommy and Julie’s blessing, Noah showed his commitment by standing by her side to support her on a trip to New Orleans as she lost a family member even when he had family members from out of state in town. And as Noah unexpectedly lost his father shortly after that, Mikaela was his rock.

I’ve never seen a couple more in love and more deeply connected than Mikaela and Noah. All throughout the day they were just so “smoochy” (as I referred to it). They were so ready to be husband and wife. And right after the ceremony, even though it was 30 degrees outside with 20 mph wind gusts, Mikaela never complained about the cold. The adrenaline from finally being Mrs. Coach Rodgers was enough to keep her warm! I honestly had to tell them to walk inside or else I’m going to keep taking pictures of them because I did not want to stop!

To the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Coach Rodgers,

I can’t tell you how much I have loved getting to know you both and being part of this season with you has truly been an honor. Your love is something that is so incredibly special and being able to capture it for you has brought me so much joy. I am a little sad that the day has passed but my heart is filled with so much love for you two and I’m so happy for you both to finally become husband and wife! I know you both woke up in Montego Bay this morning but take a moment and enjoy reliving your wedding day through my favorite images because there are A LOT!

A few months leading up to the wedding, Mikaela’s sweet grandma was hospitalized and when she surprised her by walking all the way up the stairs, it brought them both to tears.
