Since I don’t usually post my portrait sessions, I figured I should at least show my favorites from 2019!

WOW! What a year 2019 has been! I am truly beyond blessed for the events and gifts that God has placed on me this year! So ’tis the season for ‘BEST OF’ blog posts! I went through each of my sessions this year and pulled out a few favorites from each one. Enjoy!

When I walked into the house to see the bride and start shooting this Union 12 wedding, I walked into the most peaceful bridal suite ever. Jordian’s sweet sister was finishing up the bridal hair, her bridesmaids were getting ready themselves and there was no music. Just a soft, quiet room full of girls getting ready! The atmosphere was joyful and calm.

Classic, Elegant, Timeless — I had a vision — black and white with greenery. I saw a venue with so much character that it needed no decorations. I saw white everything — white chairs, white linens, white roses and only greenery on the tables. I dreamed of a timeless wedding — black suits, black bridesmaids dresses and me in a classic, sophisticated ivory gown.

When I first met with Kate, I was so excited when she said “I waited so long for a photographer and Anis said ‘why do you keep looking at other photographers, you know you like Courtney'” — She is what I hope all my potential brides to be like someday! She follows and keeps up on my work and then when it’s her turn, she contacts me!

Downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana has become one of my favorite places to shoot engagement sessions! The city planted the most colorful trees at Headwaters which offers an amazing view of the skyline (although I didn’t get it in this session). But then the new Promenade Park is STUNNING and offers a beautiful view of the sunset behind the historical Wells Street Bridge!

Fort Collins showered their day with the most glorious weather. We scouted out the location for the nuptials the night before and it was almost like this spot was made for weddings because it was out on this little ledge just big enough for about 25 people with a great view in the background. The sun was shining bright, my best friend Nikki had the music queued and we all gathered as they read their own vows and committed a lifetime to each other in front of friends and family. After the ceremony, we all headed out to New Belgium Brewery for post-wedding beers and enjoy the celebration of two becoming one!

Kim always had a vision for her day. Her in-laws have a large property completely surrounded by massive pines and she knew she would stand in front of friends and family to marry her best friend by her favorite trees one day. Planning an outdoor wedding always adds a little more stress to the mix but luckily the rain came a day early so her ceremony dreams could come true!

I cannot say enough good things about Mr. and Mrs. Clontz! Jaime and Chris are dream clients! This Indiana barn wedding was A BLAST! With their easy-going and fun-loving personalities, it was such a joy and truly an honor to be able to capture their wedding. They have a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, who is just so adorable (you’ll see her later, as their flower girl) and this little family deserves all the best in the world!

I think I say this after every engagement session with my couples but SERIOUSLY I have the sweetest couples! I have known Tiffany since highschool and Toan (pronounced like “John” with a ‘T’) since my college years! When I first met up with them we discussed some times we shared at Ball State University that were maybe a little muddy in our memories haha! Tiffany and Toan are just the sweetest and conversation flowed so easily like we had been great friends over years! It was so fun walking around The Villages of West Clay, where they live (while laughing and comparing it to Eagleton from Parks & Recreation), it truly is a gorgeous little village in Carmel!

This summer sunset engagement session was SO FUN. Tayler was kind enough to drive us all around in Corinna’s Jeep up (and down) steep hills, over the creek as I directed him on what locations looked good! So outside of going off-roading in the Jeep, spending two hours with this lovely couple was so pleasant and I would do it again any night of the week!

Wow. Just wow! What a beautiful day celebrating a beautiful couple! It was seriously such a joy and honor to serve this beautiful couple. Emily and Brooks are so loved and it was a joy meeting their family, hearing their stories and sharing in the love of their day! Kelsey, Emily’s best friend, had a beautiful speech where I got to learn more about this beautiful couple and who they are as people and it felt so good to be serving them and giving them my very best because they absolutely deserve the best in everything! They are a very special couple and it was truly an honor to capture their best day ever!
