Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with barn wedding venues but I am just not a big fan of them when it’s just wood on the floors, walls and ceiling. When they are classy (for example White Willow Farms is truly a stunning barn venue! Very well done! And I’m shooting there in the Spring of 2022!!) I am all about that!

As a wedding photographer, I obviously follow a lot of different vendors and venues and I tell you what… had I known what I know now I may have gotten married at a different venue!

I HAVE FOUND SO MANY MORE STUNNING VENUES IN THE MIDWEST since I’ve become a wedding photographer! Because Google is CRAP for finding the amazing venues. You literally have to put in the time and follow a million wedding vendors to find these GEMS!

Michigan Wedding Venue
Greencrest Manor – Battle Creek, MI

First up is Greencrest Manor. It is a European garden wedding DREAM. I mean, it truly doesn’t get much better than this! It’s hard to believe this Michigan wedding venue is right in my backyard!

The Sixpence – Whitestown, IN

The Sixpence is a brand new Wedding and Event Space that will hold its first wedding in July 2021! I went to the open house for this wedding venue and the owners and designers really thought about every detail of their couples’ wedding day! Can’t wait to see it come to life!

Crimson Lane – Ada, OH

Crimson Lane is a beautifully designed wedding venue for the light and airy bride and groom! Bright white walls accented with wood beams on the ceiling, this Indiana wedding venue is one to impress!

Scottish Rite Cathedral – Indy

Talk about ballroom goals! I would feel like Belle from Beauty and the Beast during my first dance inside the Scottish Rite Cathedral Ballroom. And I absolutely love this idea of having everyone watch your first dance from the balcony!

Ariel Pearl Center – Cleveland, OH

Ok, yes, more ballroom goals, but very worthy! The Ballroom at the Ariel Pearl Center in Ohio! But unlike the Scottish Rite, I am obsessed with the intricate detail in the floor to ceiling Marble walls!

Iron & Ember – Carmel, IN

Iron & Ember Events in Carmel, Indiana is a beautiful, clean and crisp wedding venue that I would be thrilled to shoot at! I love the accent of iron beams on the ceiling just to break up all the white! This place should be on your list of venues to visit! View a real Iron & Ember wedding HERE.

The Baker Lofts – Holland, MI

I LOVE the look and feel of The Baker Lofts in Holland, Michigan! The texture in the wood ceiling and floors just gives this industrial vibe! And when you pair that with some light-colored linens, tons of lush florals and wedding decor and this place is a HIT!

Lake Erie Building – Lakewood, OH

The Lake Erie Building in Ohio is another gorgeous industrial-style wedding venue but instead of wood, you’ve gone white stone walls and tons of large windows to let in tons of natural light! If you’re looking for that abandoned warehouse look but cleaned up incredibly well, then this bright, naturally lit, clean and crisp wedding venue should be on your list to visit!

Cliffside Acres – Columbus, OH

Cliffside is a brand new, modern-farmhouse wedding venue, located in central Ohio and just 45-minutes west of Columbus. Fall in love with this venue’s unique, outdoor, 360-degree ceremony space beneath two maple trees. This brand new venue is truly one of a kind in Central Ohio. Its historical greenhouse offers a magical open-air experience but is still your Plan B if it rains!
